The State of Florida has been declared a State of Emergency.  People are buying up every bottle of water that can be found.  Others who never eat bread are pulling bread off the shelves so they can survive if the storm knocks out power.  Gas lines remind us of the 80’s oil crisis and lines of cars getting out of the state send a message to others:  “We have no power over the powerful Irma.”

We should be taking precautions and all that is good.

And I ask my dear friends reading this:

“Have you prayed for safety or have you prayed for God to send Irma away to her demise?”

Prayers for our safety are so easy.  We were raised with baby prayers of “protect me while I sleep” yet we are not babies anymore.  We are adults with big voices and big visions for our lives.  We can plant visions of businesses and believe we can make it happen.  Yet — we become small-minded when it comes to praying mighty prayers with boldness and confidence.

Maybe we don’t feel we have the power to effect change like — telling a Hurricane to go away. The truth is:  We Do!  If you are a man or woman of God — He tells us:

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” – John 14:12

Did you see that?  Even greater works!!  Do you know that Jesus calmed the storms?  Well, if He did it — we can too!

That’s a BHAG isn’t it?  A BHAG is a Big, Hairy Audacious Goal and this is one goal we can achieve if we JUST BELIEVE.

Please review the movie clip where Patton asks for a weather prayer as he is preparing for the Battle of the Bulge.  General Patton was a man of faith and he knew he could do anything with the Lord leading the way.  Here’s the prayer he commissioned:

Weather Prayer

If a tough, strong and valiant Commander can pray and ask God to change the weather – how about you?

God bless you and stay strong – all the days of your life!
